Champagne: A Wayfarer's Story

Packaging - Branding - Storytelling - Lasercutting

An 18th century story by Anton Chekhov is reimagined and experienced through the medium of luxury packaging. The luxurious weighted gift box is designed in layers, each one revealing more of the story and allowing the user to interact with the story in new ways. There is a contrast of rich and luxurious materials like silk contrasted with delicate materials like tissue paper. Despite the lavish appearance, once each layer is opened it cannot be resealed as tear-open tabs and hidden threads rip the materials. It is destructive packaging inspired by the main character’s selfish actions which change the course of his family’s life forever.
